It is getting colder.......(for Southern California that is)....
It is getting darker earlier...(damn you Daylight Savings)...
It is the time of year when the pumpkins have already rotted on the porch and been tossed in the trash . All the goblins and ghouls have gone back into their boxes until next Halloween. Christmas decorations are already in the stores....and it is SO HARD to get motivated to keep up running.
It is so easy to just sleep in a little longer and instead of getting up and running on Saturday morning when the rest of the family is still in bed to just curl up in that comfortable blanket for another hour. It is so much easier to just crawl under the sheets and watch all those Shows that are filling up the DVR. It is so easy to just quit....to just shut it down for the winter and start eating a little extra everyday for the winter hibernation. It is no fun running as the sun sets and old folks are out walking their Yorkshire Terriers in their red sweaters (the dogs that is)......
My normal 6 mile runs have turned into the shorter route 4.4 mile runs...I'm still getting up and doing it but the motivation is slipping.
For awhile I felt like my day wasn't complete until I had run...now I have to force myself to slide on those shoes and get out there.........Listen to your inner Yoda and fight through the winter depression.....
