Virtual Runs slows down: 5:30 am running

I haven't updated my Virtual Run in awhile....Luckily that doesn't mean that it has stopped....(but it has definitely slowed down).   My new work schedule that I started in late August has made it a lot more difficult to keep up with my running on a regular basis.  I did have a 12 day stretch with no runs as I used the excuse of my allergies to keep me indoors a couple of weekends ago.  IT IS SO EASY to just not  run.   Why is not excercising so easy??     I've still made an effort to keep it up  (That's what she said)   I've been squeezing runs in, but I need to adjust and come up with a new plan to keep up with the miles.

This morning I was woken up by the dogs around 5am.    The little dog was scratching at the door to get out ---which meant the big dog started to whine to go out as well.  I let the little dog back in and the big dog out.....and then she wanted back in because it was too cold.      I obviously wasn't getting back to sleep so I decided to head out for a run.

6 Miles in the Dark and Mist.  You really couldn't see more than 25 feet in front of you.  There is something peaceful about earlier morning runs with no one of the streets and something dangerous too. About 1/4 mile into my dark morning run (listening to one of my weekly podcasts)  I almost completely ate it crossing the street.   A trip and stumble smashing my big toe on my left foot into a crack.   Memories came flooding back from when I broke the big toe on other foot that kept me out of action for several months.   I survived the run in the dark intact.  Running in the light of the full moon  as the mist slowly lifted and finishing the run with the sun rises behind me.

I've never been a early morning runner, but with my current schedule of leaving the house aroun 6:50am and getting home when it is dark around  7:45pm  I need to figure a way to get a few morning runs in during the work week.  And I need to absolutely make sure I run both days in the weekend in case  those week day runs don't happen.

I'll update the Virtual stats later this weekend after piecing together the mileage.
