Third Week in January where Resolutions go to die.......

It is the third week of the year.  The week where all those resolutions you made January 1st go to DIE.   After kick starting the new year with a bunch of goals the third week in January is where people start to fall off the living healthier and exercising bandwagon........WELL DON'T.  Resolutions are no good.    You need to turn those resolutions into a new lifestyle.   If you fall off the Exercise wagon ...you need to be like Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark in the truck scene holding onto that rope and crawling your way back onto the wagon.   

Exercising is mostly mental.... (other than if you are injured)  It is mainly a battle of convincing your brain to let your body work out. 
So find the time....Don't fall off the wagon just because it is the third week of  January and if you feel yourself falling off that wagon grab the rope and pull yourself back on it like Indy.

Have you ever had a run that felt so good you couldn't wait to run again?

Have you ever had a run that felt so good you couldn't wait to run again?

Well today I had a run like that.....It felt great...and I couldn't wait to run again that I found myself running again 5 hours later.   This isn't always the case...I've had some really sluggish runs already in 2012.  Runs that felt like I was running in cement boots that I just wanted to finish.   Those runs that you just don't feel right.   But yesterday my 6 mile run felt great.....and today I went out to do my shorter run of 4.4 miles and tacked an extra mile on the end.   As soon as I finished I just wanted to run again.   That is a great feeling to have.   So later in the day I went out and when another 4.4 miles  and that felt great as well.
I wish every run could feel this good.

Adding weights and abs to the Running... "Here we go again"

Time to plus the workout plan for 2012.   I've been very successful in keeping up with my running.
Adding weights and abs consistently  NOT SO MUCH......I had a good run last year when I did a 181 day challenge.  But quickly fell off the ab and small weight wagon.   It took me until the 4th day of the year to restart --the process again but I did.    Now it is just a matter of trying to KEEP IT UP  " That's what she said".

I just don't enjoy it -which is why it is so hard to force myself to do it all the time.   Swimming is refreshing,  Running I've been able to make a part of my life.  Weights  (Even the tiny wimpy ones)  I just don't like.


But it is Yoda time......"DO OR DO NOT THERE IS NO TRY"

1st Run of 2012...

The First run of 2012....It was 10am and the streets were empty...Everyone was sleeping in and trying to recover from their hangovers and I was out pounding the pavement.
